In this Olympic year we have seen extraordinary things.
We have seen cynicism turn to enthusiasm as millions of people found inspiration in the names Wiggins, Ennis, Peacock, Weir and scores more.
We have seen the world applaud, with enthusiasm and admiration, as London showed them a new standard of excellence.
And we have seen attitudes change as the Paralympics became, for the first time, a genuine part of the Games and not merely a politically correct addendum.
This is what we have seen in 2012.
And we have been inspired.
This is a year to remember.
This is a year in which great things happen.
For 3hundredand65 it is a year in which this spirit is being used to raise awareness and money for The Teenage Cancer Trust.
Over the year we have been telling a story on Twitter. One tweet and one illustration per day has become a movement of national interest, attracting the likes of Stephen Fry, Neil Gaiman………..
An incredible achievement bringing millions of eyes to the cause.
And early next year we are celebrating it in a way that will remind them how incredible this year has been.
On a night in March, we are staging a party like no other. Held at Manchester’s Velodrome it will begin with teenage cancer sufferers being trained to ride the circuit and raise even more money for Teenage Cancer Trust.
Teenagers helping teenagers.
Inspiring their own generation.
The party continues with a group of three top celebrities riding the circuit in their own challenge.
And from there on into the night with an incredible band supported by other bands, poets and comedians to show the country what can be done if we all just try.
But that’s not the whole story.
One, seriously heavyweight comedian will fill the Velodrome with laughter.
What a party. We will be selling thousands of tickets and live streaming the event to millions.
All those people joining us in person, on Twitter or via the live feed will help raise money by sponsoring laps through a unique piece of software written especially for 3hundredand65 which allows micro-payments per lap from millions of people. Mobilising the year’s readership will be a major aim.
Imagine the awareness turned up to eleven and you can imagine what we will achieve.
Now imagine what we could achieve if we had more support from people like you.
All that awareness, all that money could be doubled – easily.
We could celebrate the legacy of this Olympic year and truly inspire a generation.
